Circles of Stone offers Vision Quests in the South African Wilderness
Vision Quest is an honouring of everything which has brought you to this point in your life.
It is an acknowledgement of the need for something new, something more, a change in which we choose to be an active participant.
Vision Quest can be regarded as a mature Rite of Passage where the initiate moves from one stage of their life to the next in the context of a safe container of fellow questers,
the natural world and the facilitators.
It is about visioning a future; one to which we can consent.
It is an opportunity for honouring the past, giving gratitude and mourning as appropriate.
The modern Vision Quest is a result of the careful, thoughtful and respectful adaptation of many ancient practices learnt from teachers and mentors globally.
Over many years it has been refined and expanded to acknowledge pan-cultural experiences globally.
At the heart of any Vision Quest is a solo fast on the land. Time is used before the solo for gentle severance from the daily demands of life, thorough physical and intentional preparation, which includes imparting information on physical safety, ritual practices and ideas
on ways of being to support participants
in the wilderness.
On return from the solo time the fast is broken
and we prepare for storytelling and reintegration into our lives.
